2024 AI & Semiconductor Forum

Semiconductors have been the main driving force in the development of the global ICT industry. The rise of generative AI (GenAI) has also become the core technology behind breakthrough innovations in all walks of life. It is internationally recognized as a key technology for the next wave of industrial revolution and will greatly affect global politics, economy, society, and every aspect of life imaginable in the next 20 years.

Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is vital to the world and with the rapid development of AI; both technologies will be the new twin core of future economic developments. To capitalize the opportunities and address the challenges from future industrial technology developments; the Taiwan National Science and Technology Council introduced the IC Taiwan Grand Challenge. The program aims to leverage Taiwan's expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, and testing to integrate chips with critical innovations such as GenAI and recruit talents from around the world.

Japan and Taiwan have forged close ties in the semiconductor industry, further elevated by the establishment of the TSMC Kumamoto fab which became the focus of the global tech industry. To address this trend, we will hold a special event during SEMICON JAPAN titled the 2024 AI Semiconductor Forum on December 13 in Tokyo Big Sight RECEPTION HALL.
